A dead fridge in the garage or a washer-dryer in the service porch — we disconnect it, load it from the driveway or carry it out, and send it to metal recycling with the refrigerant handled to EPA and California standards. Flat $221 for a fridge, across the basin.

Refrigerators, freezers, and ACs hold refrigerant that has to be handled to EPA and California standards, so they're not curbside trash, and LA Sanitation won't carry a dead appliance out of your garage or down a hillside for you. We do the disconnection, the load, and route the unit to a recycler that recovers the refrigerant and the metal. Washers, dryers, dishwashers, and water heaters are routine too.
An appliance is heavy, and most LA jobs are quick garage or driveway loads — a single-family home in the Valley where we back up and roll it out. For apartments, hillside homes, and the Downtown and Westwood high-rises, we bring the straps and the Certificate of Insurance, book the freight elevator, and carry it out. There's no surcharge for stairs, hills, or a high floor.
