LA Sanitation's bulky pickup takes a limited set of items at the curb by appointment — emptying a furnished unit that way would take forever and won't touch boxes, closets, or the kitchen, and mattresses and electronics have their own recycling rules. We clear the whole unit in one trip, carry it down the walk-up or hillside or out the DTLA tower's freight elevator, and donate or recycle what's still good.
