2. What JunkRabbit is built for in Los Angeles
Many cities, many programs
Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Culver City, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena each run their own collection. A pickup from inside works the same at every address, whichever city it's in.
Hillsides, canyons and walk streets
Canyon roads, hillside lots and Venice walk streets often have no usable curb at all. Crews carry items from the house to the truck, up or down steps, with no stairs fee.
Courtyard and mid-rise apartments
Koreatown, Mid-Wilshire and Hollywood buildings mean stairs, courtyards and managed buildings that may want a certificate of insurance. JunkRabbit emails a free COI to the managing agent within 1 hour of booking.
E-waste, paint and tires
California treats TVs and electronics as e-waste, and paint, tires and renovation debris sit outside bulky collection. JunkRabbit takes them as priced items, from a $22 tire to a $52 5-gallon bucket of paint.
3. Verified pricing

6. How a pickup works
- See the price. Pick items or upload a photo at la.getjunkrabbit.com. The total appears on screen, with no call and no phone number needed to see it.
- Book. Choose an arrival window, any day 8am to midnight, and add a card. Same-day is available if booked by 4 PM.
- (If needed) COI. Add the managing agent at checkout; the certificate goes out within 1 hour.
- Pickup. A vetted, insured local hauler comes inside, takes items from any floor, disassembles if needed and carries everything out. You get text updates on the day.
- Price check. If there are extra items that weren't in the booking, the crew shows the updated price and waits for your approval before loading them.
- Disposal. We try to donate usable items when local charities accept them and recycle whatever we can; refrigerants are recovered from fridges and AC units.
7. vs LA bulky-item pickup
Putting furniture out in Los Angeles is legal only when you've scheduled a bulky-item pickup with your own city and it goes out on their date, in their place; otherwise it's illegal dumping. The parkway strip in front of a house is public right of way, not a free drop zone. Electronics, paint and household hazardous waste, tires, construction debris and refrigerant appliances are commonly excluded. Each city sets its own rules, so check your own city's bulky-item page.
If you're on a city route with an accepted item and can wait for the date, the city program is the cheapest. JunkRabbit is for everything else: hillside and walk-street homes with no usable curb, items still inside, excluded categories, rentals where a left-behind pile becomes the building's problem, and anything that has to go today. See can you leave furniture on the curb in LA? and is it illegal to dump furniture in LA?.
8. vs national operators
National franchises such as 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King typically quote by truck volume and confirm the final price once the crew sees the job. JunkRabbit publishes a flat price for each item online, so the total is known before booking, and the job is done by a vetted, insured local hauler. There is no stairs fee and no same-day surcharge. See JunkRabbit vs 1-800-GOT-JUNK in Los Angeles for a side-by-side.
